A St Ermin's Hotel Wedding | Joshua & Julia

Joshua and Julia have travelled Japan together more than once, and it showed in almost every detail of their wedding. The cherry blossom that ran through the ceremony room wasn't a spring colour trend borrowed from a moodboard — it was a place they'd actually stood in together, brought home and built an entire day around.

Joshua and Julia married at St Ermin's Hotel, London, on 9 May — cherry blossom pink and lilac purple through every part of the day, a 1pm ceremony that went straight into confetti on the hotel steps, and a reception that barely paused once the dancing started.

Julia's morning

Julia got ready in her suite at St Ermin's with her bridesmaids around her, hair and make-up by Pam Wrigley. Partway through the morning she handed each of her bridesmaids a small gift — the kind of quiet, unhurried moment that a smaller wedding party gives you room for, everyone reading their card before the room moved on to veils and final touches.

Joshua's morning

Across the hotel, Joshua and his groomsmen got ready in grey three-piece suits with lilac bow ties, tailored by Zebel — a deliberate tie-in to the day's palette rather than a stock hire-suit grey. The room had the same unhurried energy as Julia's: cufflinks, a shared joke, the last checks before heading down.

The ceremony

St Ermin's ballroom was dressed with cherry blossom trees arching the length of the aisle beneath the hotel's original chandeliers — a direct callback to the trips that shaped the relationship, not just a seasonal palette. The ceremony began at 1pm, and Joshua and Julia walked straight out into confetti on the hotel steps, no gap between the vows and the celebration.

The reception

Speeches ran through the evening with the blossom trees still standing over the top table, and once the dancing started, the floor didn't really empty again. It's the kind of reception that photographs best when you stop directing it and let the room do what it wants to do.
