Before I photographed weddings, I spent twelve hours a day in a windowless room watching people receive the worst news of their lives. Diagnostic imaging during the pandemic. No good news ever came through that door.
Weddings were the complete inversion of that. Pure joy — every person you love gathered in one place. I found I could bring to them everything I had wanted from photography: travel, beautiful settings, portraiture, and the creation of something that outlasts the day it was made. I came to weddings deliberately, not by accident. That matters.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Photography. Before any wedding was commissioned, I exhibited work in galleries across Paris, Washington DC, Lisbon, Berlin, Barcelona, Athens, Belgrade and The Hague. Eight cities. Work selected on merit, shown alongside photographers who had spent careers earning that placement. It gave me a discipline and a standard that I've never been willing to compromise — and a way of seeing that no amount of practice alone can teach.
That background shows in the work. Not in an obvious or decorative way — you won't find it announced in every caption — but in the quieter things. The way a room is read before the camera goes up. The decision about where the light falls and what it does to a face. The choice to wait rather than shoot, and to choose the one frame rather than forty variations of the same moment.
I got married in Italy — my wife's native country — so I understand, at a personal level, everything you are about to feel. The weight of the day. The strange combination of excitement and stillness when it finally arrives. I've been on the other side of the lens at a wedding I cared about deeply, and it informs how I approach every one I photograph.
I've travelled to over fifty countries. I speak the language of destination weddings not as a selling point, but as a photographer who has worked in the Mediterranean sun, the architecture of eastern Europe, and the particular quality of light you only find when you're somewhere that took effort to get to. My daughter, now five, is already developing strong opinions about which photographs are good. She's not wrong.
The exhibition history spans eight world cities across three continents — Paris, Washington DC, Lisbon, Berlin, Barcelona, Athens, Belgrade and The Hague. Work shown at institutions including The Fridge Gallery in Washington DC, Studio Galerie B&B in Paris, and the New Moment Gallery in Belgrade. Twice shortlisted for Gurushots Photographer of the Year. Recognised across more than a dozen British photographic exhibitions from Winchester to Shrewsbury.
